After the death of one or both parents, orphans are left under the care of grandmother and others are cared for by widows. One of the biggest challenge is poor housing where by over 70.5% of Grannies and widows live in semi-permanent and/or grass-thatched houses and others live in rented houses, with very poor ventilation and overcrowded. In some families the same houses are used as kitchens and others share them with their animals like goats and chicken which is a very big health risk to the family.

We therefore support such poor households by constructing better shelter/housing to improve on their living conditions. We also support them with household basic items like mattresses, blankets, bedsheets, beds……
